2. In his speech, Minister Yun elaborated how the Park Geun-hye Government’s “emphasis on people,” which underlies its vision for happiness of the Korean people, happiness of the Korean Peninsula and happiness of the global village, is translated into its foreign policy of “trustpolitik.”

○ In particular, Minister Yun explained the trust-building process on the Korean Peninsula and the Northeast Asia peace and cooperation initiative. The new ROK government is pursuing the two policies in order to achieve sustainable peace and shared prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia by building on the two pillars of “happiness of the people” and “trustpolitik.”

3. The luncheon brought together some 80 members of the Corps, including resident ambassadors to the ROK. The event is seen to have served as a good opportunity to help diplomats stationed in the ROK better understand the foreign policy and other policy priorities of the ROK government.
