ROK Government Sends Special Envoys to Inauguration Ceremony of Brazilian President
The government of the Republic of Korea will send special envoys, Representatives Jeon Hae-cheol and Choi In-ho, to the inauguration ceremony of President of the Federative Republic of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro set to take place in Brasilia on January 1, 2019.
New Ambassadors to ROK Present Credentials
President Moon Jae-in received credentials from six new ambassadors to the Republic of Korea at Cheong Wa Dae on December 26. The six new ambassadors are Peniana Lalabalavu from the Republic of Fiji; Elrayih Mohamed Elawad Hydoub from the Republic of the Sudan; Damir Kusen from the Republic of Croatia; Luis Henrique Sobreira Lopes from the Federative Republic of Brazil; Saeed Badamchi Shabestari from the Islamic Republic of Iran; and Michael Danagher from Canada.
ROK-Japan Meeting of Top Negotiators on North Korean Nuclear Issue Takes Place
Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Lee Do-hoon met with Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kenji Kanasugi on December 24 for an in-depth discussion on nuclear and other issues concerning the DPRK.
ROK and Spain Sign Revised Air Transport Agreement on December 20, 2018
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Spain Chun Hong-jo and Minister of Development of Spain Jose Luis Abalos Meco formally signed the “Air Transport Agreement between the Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Spain” at the Spanish Ministry of Development on December 20.
ROK Signs Protocol of Accession to Central American Bank for Economic Integration
Vice Minister of Economy and Finance Lee Ho-seung, on behalf of the government of the Republic of Korea, signed a protocol of accession to the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) at the Government Complex Sejong on December 28.
