Opening Remarks by President Moon Jae-in at ROK-Cambodia Summit
The President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in made opening remarks on March 15 at ROK-Cambodia Summit. In his remarks, the President expressed gratitude for the ROK and Cambodia having advanced friendly and cooperative relations to a great extent over the past 20 years. He also said that the relations between the two have the potential to progress even faster going forward and referred to Cambodia as a significant cooperation partner for the ROK’s New Southern Policy.

Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha had a meeting and a luncheon with Foreign Minister of the State of Libya Mohamed Taha Siala on March 18, and exchanged views on ways to advance the Republic of Korea-Libya relations; the abduction of a Korean national in Libya; Korean companies’ return to Libya; ways to strengthen substantive cooperation; and regional situations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the launching ceremony for “the Republic of Korea-Pacific Island Trade & Tourism Promotion Project” at the official residence of the Foreign Minister, Seoul, on March 13, with 60 people, including the CEO and other officials of the South Pacific Tourism Organization (SPTO); delegates from tourism agencies of major countries in the Pacific region.

ROK Government Decides to Extend US$200,000 in Humanitarian Assistance to Madagascar
The government of the Republic of Korea has decided to extend humanitarian assistance of US$200,000 in cash to the Republic of Madagascar to help the country respond to the measles outbreak. The assistance from the ROK government is expected to help to improve the critical healthcare situation in Madagascar.
