Minister of Foreign Affairs Attends OECD’s 2019 Ministerial Council Meeting (May 22-23, Paris)
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha attended the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)’s annual Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM), held under the theme “Harnessing Digital Transition for Sustainable Development: Opportunities and Challenges” in Paris, the French Republic, from May 22 to 23.
ROK-Peru Foreign Ministerial Meeting Held on Occasion of OECD Ministerial Council Meeting
During her visit to the French Republic for the 2019 Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) underway in the country on May 22 and 23, Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Peru Nestor Popolizio on May 22.
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee to Attend 75th Session of UN ESCAP
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Tae-ho will attend the 75th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) to be held in Bangkok, Thailand. In his address, Vice Minister Lee will underscore the need to overcome inequalities in the Asia-Pacific region, and introduce the ROK’s national strategy for building an inclusive nation as well as the New Southern Policy, which the ROK is pursuing to promote regional cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
“ASEAN’s 5G Capacity Building Workshop” Takes Place
The Mission of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN, together with the Mission of the United States to ASEAN, held an “ASEAN’s 5G Capacity Building Workshop” in Bangkok, the Kingdom of Thailand, on May 23, 2019. The workshop, held under the theme “Policy Frameworks for the Future of 5G,” served as an opportunity to introduce future 5G technology.

Regarding the attack on May 14 on the East-West pipeline in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a private industrial facility, the government of the Republic of Korea condemns any acts that undermine energy security and regional stability, and supports the efforts to prevent similar attacks.
