Minister of Foreign Affairs Has Telephone Conversation with U.S. Secretary of State
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha had a telephone conversation with Secretary of State of the United States Michael R. Pompeo on July 10, during the visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Over the phone, the two sides exchanged views on various matters of mutual interest, such as the outcome of President Donald Trump’s visit to the Republic of Korea and the regional situation, including issues concerning the Korean Peninsula and the ROK-Japan relations.
Outcome of Courtesy Call on Vice President of Ghana by Minister of Foreign Affairs
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha, after leaving the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on the morning of July 12, arrived in Accra, the capital of the Republic of Ghana, and paid a courtesy call on Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia. During the courtesy call, the two sides exchanged views on ways to strengthen substantive cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Ghana.
Outcome of Meeting between Deputy Minister Yoon Soon-gu and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs David R. Stilwell Held during Latter’s Visit to ROK
On July 17, Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Yoon Soon-gu met with Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs of the United States David R. Stilwell, who is on a visit to the Republic of Korea between July 16 and 18 as part of his first trip to Asia since his inauguration.
Meeting between ROK and Australian Head Delegates to MIKTA SOM
Deputy Minister for Multilateral and Global Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kang Jeong-sik visited the Commonwealth of Australia on July 9-10 in his capacity as head delegate of the Republic of Korea to the MIKTA Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) after his visit to the United Mexican States.
ROK Government Decides to Extend 100,000 USD in Humanitarian Assistance in Response to HIV Outbreak
The government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) has decided to extend humanitarian assistance of 100,000 USD in cash through the World Health Organization (WHO) to help respond to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Outbreak in Larkana district, Sindh province of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
