15th MIKTA Foreign Ministers’ Meeting Takes Place
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha attended the 15th MIKTA (Mexico, Indonesia, Korea, Turkey and Australia) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in New York on September 26 on the occasion of the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly. The participants exchanged views on current international issues, including ways to strengthen multilateralism- and rules-based international trade order, recent developments on the Korean Peninsula, migration and development in Latin America, and ASEAN outlook on the Indo-Pacific.

The government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) has decided to extend through the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) 300,000 USD in humanitarian assistance to the Republic of the Sudan, which suffered severe damages from floods caused by continued heavy rains throughout August.
