Foreign Minister Attends Opening Ceremony of 18th World Korean Business Convention
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha attended an opening ceremony and a welcoming dinner of the 18th World Korean Business Convention at the Yeosu International Expo Hall in Jeollanam-do on October 22, 2019. At the Convention, Minister Kang delivered congratulatory remarks from President Moon Jae-in, welcomed and encouraged the attending Korean businessmen from 51 countries around the world.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha visited Nur-Sultan, the Republic of Kazakhstan on October 15-16, and attended the 12th Republic of Korea (ROK)-Central Asia Cooperation Forum, an annual consultative mechanism for promoting comprehensive exchanges and cooperation, as well as enhancing friendship between the ROK and five Central Asian countries.

The Republic of Korea (ROK) was elected to serve on the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in 2020-2022 at the election held at the UN General Assembly on October 17, 2019. It marks the 5th time for the ROK to serve on the UNHRC after the country first joined the UNHRC in 2006 as its founding member.

ROK Government Decides to Extend 100,000 USD in Humanitarian Assistance to Earthquake-hit Philippines
The government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) will extend 100,000 USD in humanitarian assistance through the Philippine Red Cross to the Republic of the Philippines which has suffered casualties and property damage caused by the 6.3-magnitude earthquake and a series of aftershocks that hit Mindanao, the Philippines, on October 16.
