Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jongmoon attended the New and Emerging Technologies Side Event held virtually on the margins of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly on September 22. Vice Minister Choi emphasized that digital technologies hold both opportunities and challenges for protection and promotion of human rights, and that efforts of the private sector, businesses in particular, to respect human rights are important to fully utilize the benefits of digital technologies.

Telephone Conversation between Korea and US Chief Negotiators on the North Korean Nuclear Issue

Ambassador Noh Kyu-duk, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, had a telephone conversation with Ambassador Sung Kim, U.S. Special Representative for the DPRK, on September 15. The two sides shared their respective assessments of the current situation in light of the short-range ballistic missile launches by the DPRK on September 15, and held discussions on their response.
