Korea-Japan Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

During Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Chung Eui-yong’s visit to New York on the occasion of the 76th UN General Assembly Session, he had a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Toshimitsu Motegi on September 23 and exchanged views on ways to resolve bilateral issues and develop future-oriented relations between Korea and Japan.

Korea Elected Chair of Board of Governors of International Atomic Energy Agency

Korea was elected as new Chair of the Board of Governors of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on September 27, by consensus at the Board of Governors meeting in Vienna, Austria. This is the first time for Korea to serve as a chair country since it joined the IAEA in 1957 as one of its founding members.
