6th Meeting of Korea-Nigeria Joint Commission

The 6th meeting of the Korea-Nigeria Joint Commission was held in Seoul on October 14 headed by Vice Minister Choi Jong Kun, and Zubairu Dada, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Nigeria. During the meeting, the two sides extensively discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations in such areas as economy and development, culture and consular service and international cooperation.

2021 Northeast Asia Peace and Cooperation Intergovernmental Meeting

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the Northeast Asia Peace and Cooperation Intergovernmental Meeting 2021 on October 20, chaired by Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Yeo Seung Bae. At the Intergovernmental Meeting, a variety of policy advice proposed by the private sector was reviewed, and key achievements and ways to further develop the Northeast Asia Cooperation for Health Security (NEACHS) were discussed.

Korea-EU-Oman Joint Naval Exercise

Korea, the European Union (EU), and Oman conducted their first joint naval and information exchange exercise in the International Recommended Transit Corridor through the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea on October 18. Based on an anti-piracy operation scenario, the joint naval exercise included boarding a vessel with helicopter-borne special operations forces, live heavy machine gun fire, a search and rescue operation, and complex tactical evolutions at sea.
