Korea-U.S. Foreign Ministers’ Meeting
Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken in Rome on October 31, on the occasion of the G20 Summit, and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations between Korea and the U.S., Korean Peninsula issues, and global issues including COVID-19 response. The two agreed on the importance of stable management of the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and had earnest discussions on ways for the early resumption of the Korean Peninsula Peace Process including the end-of-war declaration.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong met with State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi in Rome on October 29, on the occasion of the G20 Summit. Regarding the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the two Foreign Ministers had a frank and in-depth exchange of views on ways of cooperation to advance the peace process on the Korean Peninsula, including end-of-war declaration.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong Kun and State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi held the 1st Korea-Qatar Policy Consultation in Seoul on November 3, and discussed ways to strengthen the Korea-Qatar relations, substantive cooperation between the two countries, including cooperation on the global stage, as well as on regional issues.
