Foreign Minister’s Courtesy Call on Tajik President
Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong paid a courtesy call on President Emomali Rahmon on November 29, during which the two sides exchanged views on the way forward for relations between Korea and Tajikistan, which will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties in 2022, and regional affairs. Foreign Minister Chung voiced hope that Korea and Tajikistan will work for mutually beneficial development through a harmonious nexus between the former’s New Northern Policy and the latter’s National Development Strategy.

14th Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum
The 14th Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum took place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on November 30. The Forum was co-hosted by the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs and attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong and his counterparts from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan as well as a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan in their capacities as head delegates.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong Kun, during his visit to “comfort women” victims in Daegu and Pohang on November 29 to 30, asked after their health, and listened to their views on the “comfort women” issue. Vice Minister Choi reaffirmed the commitment to continue to closely communicate with the victims and relevant organizations in the process of seeking to restore the honor and dignity of the victims and heal their wounds.

On the occasion of 2021 Seoul UN Peacekeeping Ministerial, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense, on December 7-8, a special exhibition titled “United for Peace, Together for a Better Future” opens to the public on December 3 with an opening ceremony attended by the Vice Foreign Minister CHOI Jongmoon and the Deputy Minister for National Defense Policy, KIM Mangi.
