Korea in the UNHRC The Republic of Korea was re-elected to serve on the Human Rights Council for three-year terms at the United Nations General Assembly on May 21 in New York. Korea won 139 votes in the ballots conducted by 192 UN member states. In the contest for four Council seats from the Asian region, Japan, Bahrain, and Pakistan won the most votes along with Korea to join the panel.
