MOFAT to Boost Social Network Service

With the aim to strengthen “digital network diplomacy” through expanded social network services (SNS), whose importance as a two-way communication tool is being highlighted, the Foreign Ministry will officially launch a Korean-language Twitter site as well as Korean and English-language Facebook sites on October 25, in addition to its Korean-language Twitter site, which is already in operation. ◎ English-language Twitter address: twitter.com/mofatkr_eng   * The Korean-language Twitter site opened on July 29, 2010. ◎ Facebook addresses:   - Korean: facebook.com/mofatkr   - English: facebook.com/mofatkr.eng * The Ministry’s Twitter and Facebook pages may be accessed from MOFAT’s Korean and English-language websites. The newly established English-language Twitter site as well as Korean and English-language Facebook sites are expected to function as a channel for the Foreign Ministry to widely publicize its position on foreign policies and diplomatic issues as well as to gather various opinions, and thereby contribute to bolstering open and communicative diplomacy, in which the Korean people and the world can take part. The Foreign Ministry will expand contents and make every other effort to establish SNS as a useful communication tool. Further, it plans to provide services through other SNS like “me2day” and “YouTube”
