With the continuous spread of the H1N1 influenza, the number of people who are infected or have lost their lives is on the rise in Mexico. The Korean government is seeking ways to further strengthen safety measures on Koreans residing or staying in Mexico.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs sent a team of disease control experts to the Embassy in Mexico on May 3, comprised of an infection specialist, a nurse, and a South America specialist at the MOFAT. The team stayed in Mexico for about two weeks and researched the cause and spread of the H1N1 influenza in the country, as well as supported the Embassy to provide the Koreans in Mexico with precautions and medical safety measures.
