Korea Offers Aid to Typhoon Victims in Taiwan |

With regard to extensive human losses and property damages recently incurred by Typhoon Morikot in Taiwan, the Government of the Republic of Korea has sent US$120,000 in relief fund to the Taiwan Red Cross through the Korean Mission in Taipei on August 14 in a bid to assist with efforts for prompt recovery and join in humanitarian assistance by the international community.
According to the August 13 report by Taiwan’s Central Emergency Operation Center, the typhoon has claimed 116 lives, while leaving 59 people missing, 45 injured and 17,855 homeless. Also, 252 sections of roads as well as 60 sections of river and coastal banks have been washed away in the midst of the typhoon.
