1. The government of the Republic of Korea decided to provide humanitarian aid worth 500,000 US dollars to Sudan's Darfur region, which is facing difficulties due to chronic food shortages.

2. The aforementioned aid will be used for the World Food Program (WFP)’s emergency food aid program.

3. In 2012, the ROK government donated 400,000, 300,000 and 100,000 US dollars to the World Food Program (WFP), the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the World Health Organization (WHO) respectively to contribute to resolving the food crisis, supporting refugees and treating yellow fever patients in Sudan.
