Bolivia has suffered serious damages from a large-scale flood owing to La Nina since November 2007, with over 50,000 people losing homes. On February 19, the Korean government decided to provide $ 50,000 as emergency aid to Bolivia to assist their reconstruction efforts.

The Korean government has sent emergency funds to other countries this year including Kenya, China, Kyrgyzstan and Fiji. Korea will continue to actively join the international community in providing humanitarian assistance for the countries in need.
